Tim Blake Nelson’s comeback to the MCU as the leader after 16 years!

Tim Blake Nelson’s comeback to the MCU as the leader after 16 years!

It shouldn't take much to remind Marvel fans that Tim Blake Nelson starred in the 2008 movie The Incredible Hulk in the iconic role of Samuel Sterns, the scientist who would later become the powerful leader. But up until recently, he has been noticeably absent from the enormous Marvel Cinematic Universe. When Nelson makes his comeback in Captain America: Brave New World the following year, a lot is expected of him.

Nelson said it has been too long since he last worked on the Captain America series and he is excited to get back. He said that instead of just sitting on his couch and doing nothing, the character has undergone a substantial transformation since fans last saw him. The star has openly acknowledged that she gave up on the part, so it is impossible to overstate how shocking it is to see it done again. The final piece of the puzzle was working with Anthony Mackie, an old buddy from drama school.

Nelson disclosed, "I had given up on getting to play this character again and had despaired on that. I was astonished frankly when they said, 'We're bringing you back as The Leader, and it's going to be in the Captain America franchise.' I love Anthony Mackie, we've worked together before, we went to the same drama school, so I was all in."
