Aamir Khan and his sister Nikhat’s special Raksha Bandhan by tying Rakhi to each other!

Aamir Khan and his sister Nikhat’s special Raksha Bandhan by tying Rakhi to each other!

Raksha Bandhan is a significant occasion in Bollywood, and this year, the joy was extended to Aamir Khan as well. The famous person was seen gifting his sister some sweets and exchanging Rakhi with her in several pictures that his sister Nikhat Hegde posted on Instagram. Apart from looking gorgeous in traditional clothes, Aamir was seen handing some candy to his older sister Nikhat.

Nikhat Khan Hegde is the eldest child of director Tahir Hussain and his wife Zeenat Hussain. Her three siblings include the actors Aamir Khan and Faisal Khan, as well as her sister Farhat Khan Datta. Nikhat started her career as a model and producer, but in more recent times, she has experimented with acting. Her most recent appearance was in the 2023 comeback movie Pathaan, where she played Shah Rukh Khan's foster mother.

Since it's traditional for the opposite to happen, I can't help but wonder why Aamir Khan also gave his sister a Rakhi. Recently, during an interview with a daily, Nikhat revealed, “Aamir ties us Rakhi too — ki aisa nahin hai ki only he has to protect us; we, too, have to protect him. So, hum unko aur woh humko Rakhi bandhtey hain, which is very sweet.”

In addition to her significant absence, she revealed in the same interview that their other sister Farhat is not in India and that she will do rituals on her behalf. “Raksha Bandhan is something we always celebrate with a lot of joy. This time, too, we will be celebrating, but my sister Farhat (the youngest of the four Khan siblings) is abroad, so we will miss her and I will do the rituals on her behalf. Last year, I was travelling, so she did it for me. Usually, we go to Aamir’s house and we do the little ritual of tika, with diya and mithai. Us din sweets ka bhi koi parhez nahin rehta, khila hi dete hain!” reveals Nikhat.

What, in her opinion, is the most enjoyable aspect of Raksha Bandhan? " That we remind each other, ki hum hain! It’s a nice feeling. Special ho jata hai. Shiddat ke saath karte hain and when kids also see all this, they also understand our social fabric,”, she revealed.

According to Khan, the siblings' relationship has become stronger with time. "Thank goodness, since Aamir, Faisal, and I all reside in the same building, we have regular opportunities to meet up. My sister is the only one not present; she relocated to London. Moreover, present is our ammi, Zeenat Hussain, who is now 90 years old, mashallah. We've been even closer as a result of her poor health over the last two years, she continues.

“Last year, I was traveling, so she did it for me. Usually, we go to Aamir’s house and we do the little ritual of tika, with diya and mithai. Us din sweets ka bhi koi parhez nahin rehta, khila hi dete hain!,” disclosed Nikhat adding that Her family enjoys celebrating holidays like Raksha Bandhan very much.

In terms of his professional life, Aamir Khan most recently starred alongside Kareena Kapoor Khan in the 2022 release of Laal Singh Chaddha. Although the movie didn't do well at the box office, it got good reviews when it was released for over-the-top streaming. Khan will play the lead in the follow-up to his hit song Taare Zameen Par. Also appearing in the sports drama Sitaare Zameen Par is Genelia Deshmukh.

Aanand L Rai reveals the reason behind the failure of Raksha Bandhan!

The talented well-known filmmaker Aanand L Rai had a bumpy career with some huge successes and some big failures. Aanand L Rai's last outing Raksha Bandhan, which featured Akshay Kumar in the lead role, ended up as a commercial disaster. The film was criticised by the viewers for its outdated content and unreasonably melodramatic narrative.

In a latest media chat, Aanand L Rai specified that Raksha Bandhan failed because he tried to put the movie in a bracket. "I was wrong while making Raksha Bandhan when I thought let me give them something which is more of India and let me cater to the audience in the B and C tier cities. I was wrong in differentiating between the audiences. That is not my job. I should have focused more on the story rather than selecting the audience to whom I want to cater," revealed the well-known filmmaker.

"This is my learning from the film. We are trying to find out what story will engage the audience at this moment and in this phase. Post-pandemic we have failed the audience with that. Maybe, I went too smart with Raksha Bandhan. I was trying to put it in a bracket and that's what went wrong. It was my fastest film but I relished it. I never made this film in a rush. I had fun. I was always gutsy and never played safe. But I think subconsciously I tried to do that with Raksha Bandhan and failed miserably. I learned that I should keep on doing my work, without thinking of the box office." Further added Aanand L Rai.

The filmmaker is now set to release his forthcoming production venture An Action Hero, in December. The action thriller, which features Ayushmann Khurrana in the lead role, and Jaideep Ahlawat in a key role, is directed by newbie Anirudh Iyer.
