๐ Biography: From Destiny
Hope to Disney Legend
Childhood and Early Career
Miley was born in Franklin, Tennessee, to country singer Billy
Ray Cyrus and Tish Cyrus. Her birth name, Destiny Hope, reflected her
parents’ belief in her future success, and her constant smiling earned her the
nickname "Smiley," later shortened to "Miley."
Her godmother is the legendary country icon Dolly Parton.
Miley's acting career began with minor roles, including a
cameo in her father's TV series Doc and a credited role as "Young
Ruthie" in Tim Burton's film Big Fish (2003).
The Hannah Montana Phenomenon
In 2006, at the age of 13, Miley was cast in the lead role
of the Disney Channel series Hannah Montana. She played Miley
Stewart, a normal girl leading a double life as the famous pop star Hannah
Montana. The show was a monumental success, launching a profitable global
franchise, chart-topping soundtracks, and major concert tours. It cemented
Cyrus as a major teen idol and a household name. She was later
recognized for her contributions by being named a Disney Legend.
The Post-Disney Transition and Reinvention
Following the end of Hannah Montana in 2011, Cyrus
actively sought to shed her child star image, embracing a more mature and
provocative artistic persona. This reinvention, which started with albums like Can't
Be Tamed, peaked with the 2013 album Bangerz. This era was
characterized by controversial public performances and music videos for hits
like "Wrecking Ball" and "We Can't Stop,"
establishing her as a serious and boundary-pushing solo artist.
