Following the record-breaking success of Season 4, the makers have officially confirmed that Panchayat Season 5 is in the works and is set to premiere in 2026. This highly anticipated renewal means audiences will once again return to the quaint, yet complex, village of Phulera.

The announcement comes swiftly after Season 4, which dropped on June 24, 2025, received overwhelming acclaim and achieved the biggest opening in the series' history. Panchayat has cemented its status as a cultural phenomenon, captivating viewers not just across India but globally, trending in over 42 countries and streamed in more than 180 nations during its launch week.

The Return to Phulera: What to Expect

While a specific release date within 2026 is yet to be revealed, the news has ignited excitement among the show's loyal fanbase. The series, known for its unique blend of slice-of-life humor, subtle social commentary, and endearing characters, will continue to explore the journey of Abhishek Tripathi (Jitendra Kumar), the reluctant Panchayat Secretary.

The core ensemble cast, including Jitendra Kumar (Sachiv Ji), Raghubir Yadav (Pradhan Ji), and Neena Gupta (Manju Devi), is confirmed to return. Viewers can also look forward to seeing other fan-favorite characters like Faisal Malik (Prahlad Pandey), Chandan Roy (Vikas), and Sanvikaa (Rinki) reprise their roles.

Season 4 concluded with several gripping cliffhangers:

  • The unexpected outcome of the village elections, with Kranti Devi defeating Manju Devi, leaving Pradhan Ji devastated.
  • Sachiv Ji's successful attempt at the CAT exam, raising questions about his future in Phulera.
  • The blossoming, yet unarticulated, relationship between Abhishek and Rinki.

Sources close to the production indicate that the writing for Season 5 is currently underway. Actress Sanvikaa, who portrays Rinki, recently confirmed that filming is likely to commence by late 2025 or early 2026. A newly released poster for Season 5 features the main cast smiling, hinting at a potentially lighter mood, while still promising to delve into the aftermath of the election and evolving power dynamics.

Addressing Fan Expectations

Season 4's heavier focus on political intrigue drew mixed reactions from some viewers who longed for the simpler, more humorous village life depicted in earlier seasons. The ongoing question of whether Abhishek will finally leave Phulera for his MBA or choose to stay, perhaps for Rinki and the village he has grown to love, remains a central mystery that fans are eagerly awaiting to see unfold. There are also speculations surrounding Pradhan Ji's comeback in local politics and the deepening of the relationship between Abhishek and Rinki, with some even hinting at a possible wedding.

Panchayat Season 4 Teaser: The Lauki Mystery!

Panchayat Season 4 Teaser: The Lauki Mystery!

For all Panchayat fans, the wait is now over! The cherished series has been formally renewed for a fourth season by Prime Video and TVF. Finally, the first look teaser for Panchayat Season 4 has been released by the producers. For all the right reasons, the teaser is already generating a lot of talk. The video suggests that Pradhan ji and Bhushan will engage in a dramatic election confrontation this time. A peek of the lauki, or bottle gourd, which went viral last season, suggests that it may make a comeback as an electoral symbol.Prime Video took to Instagram today (May 3) and dropped the first look teaser of Season 4 of Panchayat. A sneak peek at the impending electoral drama in Phulera village opens the teaser. Pradhan ji (Raghubir Yadav) is up against Bhushan (Durgesh Kumar) this time.

Manju Devi, played by Neena Gupta, is also seen endorsing her husband Pradhan ji's political campaign. There is also a hint of some progress in Abhishek's (Jitendra Kumar) romantic life.

The epic electoral contest between Bhushan's wife, Kranti Devi Sharma (Sunita Rajwar), and Pradhan ji's wife, however, is where the main action is. Indeed, the well-known bottle gourd, or lauki, is back. We don't think it will be this season's electoral emblem. We are excitedly anticipating the debut of season 4 after watching the teaser.

Prime Video shared the preview with a caption, “Phulera mein elections ki garma garmi shuru hone wali hai. #PanchayatOnPrime, New Season, July 2.”

For those who are unaware, the bottle gourd, or lauki, became a peculiar representation of bribery in Panchayat Season 3. Locals, particularly Pradhan ji, frequently give it to Abhishek as a present, emphasizing the comedy of the show's portrayal of corruption.

The comedy-drama series Panchayat centers around Abhishek Tripathi, an engineering graduate who works as a Panchayat secretary in the Phulera hamlet. The show, which is supported by TVF and available on Amazon Prime Video, was directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra and Akshat Vijaywargiya.
