I knew Harvey Weinstein was a womanizer, reveals Matt Damon!

Hollywood actor Matt Damon reveals he knew Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, accused of sexual harassment by many actresses, was a womaniser, but was not aware that he was a predator.

"When people say like, ‘Everybody knew,' Like, yeah, I knew he was an a**hole," Damon revealed ABC News in a joint interview with actor George Clooney, reports a portal.

"He was proud of that. That's how he carried himself. I knew he was a womaniser. I wouldn't want to be married to the guy. But this level of criminal sexual predation is not something that I ever thought was going on. Absolutely not," Damon further added.

Damon worked with Weinstein on "Good Will Hunting", the 1997 film that launched Damon's career.

Damon told, "You had to spend about five minutes with him to know that he was a bully. He was intimidating. Miramax was the place, really the place that was making great stuff in the 1990s. And it was like, ‘Could you survive Harvey?'"

Damon told Weinstein's "darkness" was done in private and he never saw it take place, reports a portal.

"What makes something like this so horrific is that these are women and actresses who are pursuing their dreams. They're doing everything right. And suddenly they found themselves alone with a predator," Damon revealed.

People like Harvey Weinstein exist in Bollywood too; it's time to expose them, reveals Pahlaj Nihalani!

Filmmaker and ex-CBFC cheif Pahlaj Nihalani has made a remark on the Harvey Weinstein case that has stunned Hollywood. Nihalani told that there are people like Harvey Weinstein in Bollywood, too, and that it is time for them to get exposed! Speaking to a tabloid, Nihalani revealed, "I am not talking about actresses who do what they do to establish a foothold in the industry. I am talking about aspiring actors and actresses being forced to offer sexual favours in exchange for job opportunities."

The former censor chief board further specified that there is a very clear list of offenders in Bollywood who indulge in misusing their positions.

Harvey Weinstein is a Hollywood producer who was accused by actresses Rose McGowan, Gwyneth Paltrow, Cara Delevingne, Lupita Nyong'o, Angelina Jolie and numerous others of alleged sexual harassment and rape. Weinstein even confessed to some of the instances but maintained that all were consensual encounters.

On the Weinstein controversy, actress Priyanka Chopra, who has worked in Hollywood, also told that people like Weinstein are present everywhere, including in Bollywood. Nihalani agreed with Priyanka and further added, "Priyanka is right. There are Harvey Weinsteins in Bollywood too. They continue to exploit hapless strugglers because they are not held liable for their dirty deeds. This is the time to expose them."

Nihalani said that he wishes to divulge the names of such sexual predators in Bollywood by shouting their names. He is shocked that the actresses in the Hindi film industry have not yet spoken up.

Pahlaj was quoted telling that such people in the industry can be exposed but for that, the victims need to come forward. He further added, "We are in the process of getting together voices of the victims to speak up publicly. The time to nail the Harvey Weinsteins of Bollywood is now."

Vidya Balan opens up about the Harvey Weinstein case!

Recent Harvey Weinstein sexual harassment case has shaken the Hollywood industry and closer home, the Hindi film industry too. The case is a reflection of how successful women too at times feel insecure to address sexual harassment issues.

After Priyanka, it is Vidya Balan who has spoken about the case. “You know it is quite shocking to see that Harvey Weinstein has been an abuser for so many years and no one spoke about it till the NY Times piece broke… He is one of the most powerful producers in Hollywood; someone whose work we’ve all admired but to think that even the most powerful female actors chose to keep silent on the matter for decades is a reflection of how women, however successful they maybe, don’t feel safe addressing sexual harassment,” Vidya revealed.

She further revealed, “No, I did not give anyone that space to intimidate me or be anything but respectful towards me. But I can’t say this enough number of times that I feel I came from a privileged position where my survival did not depend on this. A lot of times girls compromise as their survival depends on it.”

Later, Vidya added that personally, she has not encountered any such situation in her career. “If someone’s vibe made me uncomfortable, I’ve walked away from that person and the opportunity to work with him… That is my way of dealing with it. No one has ever crossed the line with me,” Vidya ended conversation.
