Maharashtra, Amaal Mallik hails from a prominent musical family. He is the
elder son of music director Daboo Malik and the grandson of legendary
composer Sardar Malik. His younger brother, Armaan Malik, is also
a highly successful playback singer.
Amaal’s formal musical journey began early; he started
learning music at the age of 8, developing a particular fondness for the piano.
He received training in both Indian classical music from his grandfather and
Western Classical, Jazz & Rock music from the Trinity College of Music.
His professional career began at the age of 15 when he
started assisting music composer and background scorer Amar Mohile on
films like Sarkar (2005) and Shootout at Lokhandwala (2007). He
