Palak Sindhwani aka Sonu Bhide to leave show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah amid "breach of contract" controversy!

Once more, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is making headlines due to its controversy! After five years, Palak Sindhwani, who plays Sonu Bhide, has made the decision to leave the sitcom. Nevertheless, Palak's exit is widely reported due to her grave accusations made against Asit Modi and his team, the producers of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.

The creators have allegedly accused her of breaking their contract by providing brand endorsements, according to a media report. But when Palak Sindhwani signed the contract five years ago, the manufacturers told her she could do commercials, she revealed in a media interview.

Palak clarified that it was September 19, 2024 (five years later) that she had actually received a copy of the contract. She said that everyone has sponsored businesses, including her on-screen father Mandar Chandwadkar and co-stars Munmun Dutta and Sunayana Fozdar. She was the only one, though, who received criticism from the producers when she followed suit because they had no right to prevent her from leaving the show.

Palak Sindhwani revealed that she was not informed of the contract breach until the producers made their formal declaration public. When questioned if she had an opportunity to speak with the show's producer directly about the matter, Palak said that she texted Asit Kumar Modi on September 14 (a Saturday) since she was feeling quite ill.

Everyone on the scene knew Palak had a fever, which is why she couldn't speak. Writing to Asit Modi, she, "Sir, physically I am not well, mentally it is adding to my stress. Can you please make me meet someone from your team on an urgent basis?"

Asit Kumar Modi ignored her message, the actress revealed, telling her that "no one can meet you before Wednesday (September 18)." Unaware of the circumstances, Palak tried to convey to the producer how hard it was for her to work while feeling nervous. Palak became concerned when Asit Modi informed her that "If someone is available, they will meet."

In our conversation, Palak conveyed her annoyance at Modi's request for her to get in touch with the production crew, Sohail Ramani and Jatin Bajaj, despite the fact that they are not aware of social or legal issues. She said that she was asked to chat to several people while filming the episode in order to get a solution to her problem, but she never got one.

Palak stated that the TMKOC team had requested information on her previous brand endorsements, subtly implying that they were interested in a portion of her endorsements. She stated that after five years of not being questioned, the crew began to hold her responsible for her decision to leave the show. Following their conversation with Asit Modi, Palak revealed, a legal notification referencing the violation of contract showed up at her residence on September 20.

Palak stated that it was at this point that she sought legal help and decided to speak the truth. She went into great depth about how performers represent brands in their "individual capacity" rather than using their personas from the shows to promote them.

The 26-year-old further disclosed that, in spite of her health problems, she was never given time off and only took one day off on September 18 in order to attend the meeting with Asit Modi.

Palak said, "Everyone has seen me suffer and have seen my breakdowns in between shots." She went on to say that all of her co-stars had witnessed her mental suffering, but since they work for Asit Kumar Modi, nobody would talk about it. She said that she had everyone's support.

After her time on Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Palak has revealed that she intends to take a month-long hiatus in order to heal from a painful experience. Sept. 30 is her last day of filming on the sitcom set.
