Director Vikramjit Singh, Ranbir Kapoor, Bhushan Kumar
|
This ex-investment banker who chucked his cushy corporate
job to become a filmmaker had the great honor of directing his childhood friend
Ranbir Kapoor in his debut movie, Roy. And he sure feels Ranbir is the most
selfish actor he has come across, selfish to do great roles.
“Ranbir will never do anything for friends. He is a selfish
actor. Selfish in a good way. Selfish for good roles and that is how everyone
should be.”
While Vikramjit had it easy directing Ranbir Kapoor on sets
because of the bond that they share, the director feels it’s not exactly a cake
walk directing the Kapoor scion.
“He is a very smart actor and he comes very well prepared.
He can read you inside out in just five minutes. So, as a director if you are
not well-prepared, you are dead. He will ask you just two or three questions.
He is usually very quiet and when he is not acting, he will usually sit in a
corner silently and play candy crush.”
We wonder if Ranbir was indeed playing candy crush on his
phone or simply texting lady love Katrina. When we checked with Vikramjit, the
director hilariously put his hands up and told, “I don’t know Katrina Kaif.”
